Tabs can be moved, pulled out to create new windows and dropped back in.
Pinned Tabs

Tabs can be pinned to prevent closing accidentally. Simply right click on the tab to pin it to your browser. You can unpin the tab by right clicking the tab and choosing unpin.
Recent Tabs
Recent Tabs
You can view and reopen tabs that you have closed recently. Go to your "More" options icon it looks like three stacked dots. From there you can go down to "History" and it will open a list of your recently closed tabs. If you have browser sync turned on, you can also see a few that have been closed recently on other devices.

You can use the Omnibox (Chrome's address and search box) to do many different things. It can serve as a calculator, convert units of measure.
